South Africa pacer Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against England, Cricket South Africa confirmed on Wednesday (September 10). Ngidi suffered a hamstring injury during training on Tuesday at Sophia Gardens which was confirmed following scans.
Ngidi will now return home on Thursday with Nandre Burger named as his replacement. Burger was a part of the ODI squad that won the series 2-1 but he will now join the T20I setup only ahead of the second game in Manchester. The first game of the series is scheduled to be held on Wednesday with South Africa rounding off their tour with the final T20I on Sunday (September 14) at Trent Bridge.
