India and Pakistan captains Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha are not going to stop their players from showing aggression on the field in Asia Cup 2025. Speaking in the pre-series captains' press conference, the duo were asked about the clash of the arch-rivals in the aftermath of cross-border tensions between the two countries.

Neither Suryakumar nor Agha Salman looked interested in toning the matter down and hinted at an explosive contest on September 14. Suryakumar quipped that it was not possible to play sport without aggression.

"Aggression is always there on the field. Without aggression, you cannot play the sport. I am very excited to take the field from tomorrow," Suryakumar Yadav said ahead of the Asia Cup.

This is going to be the first time that India and Pakistan will meet in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. Cross-border tensions had sparked between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, which saw prompt action from the Indian Army on terror bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The tensions spilled over into the sporting arena as well, with the Indian Premier League getting paused momentarily in May. In exhibition matches in the World Legends League, India refused to play against Pakistan in the group stage and the semi-final match of the tournament.

Pakistan captain Salman Agha toed Suryakumar Yadav's line and said that he would not stop anyone from showing aggression as long as the battle stays on the field.

"You don't need to say anything to anyone. If anyone wants to be aggressive, they are more than welcome to do that. The fast bowlers, they always want to be aggressive, because that's what keeps them going. If anyone wants to be aggressive, they are more than welcome to do that. From my side, there is no instruction to anyone as long as they keep it on the ground," Salman Agha added on the matter.

India and Pakistan are set to face each other in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2025. The teams will play on September 14, Sunday.
