Updated WWE Wrestlepalooza Card revealed: 2 new matches confirmed

WWE’s Wrestlepalooza is currently shaping up to be one of the most chaotic and star-studded shows of the year, and fans are already talking about the confirmed matches for the September 20 event.

The headliner is a battle that needs no extra hype: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar. These two have defined eras in WWE, and any time they collide, it feels like a clash of titans. Cena, who is still carrying the aura of being the franchise face, steps back into the ring against “The Beast Incarnate,” who has spent the past decade dismantling opponents with suplexes and F-5s. Both men know their history, as Cena has been somewhat mauled by Lesnar in the past, but he has also shown the grit to survive.

On the women’s side, the Women’s World Championship will be on the line as IYO SKY defends against Stephanie Vaquer. SKY, who has dominated since capturing the title, will be facing one of the fastest-rising names in women’s wrestling. Vaquer, who has also made waves across multiple promotions, now steps onto one of WWE’s biggest stages for the biggest opportunity of her career. SKY’s high-flying arsenal versus Vaquer’s technical precision is all set to create a clash of styles that could steal the show.

Perhaps the most jaw-dropping surprise came on Raw when AJ Lee returned to WWE after a decade-long absence. Carrying Becky Lynch’s Intercontinental Championship with her, Lee immediately reignited sparks with “The Man.” Things escalated quickly when Seth Rollins joined Lynch in the ring—only to be interrupted by none other than CM Punk. A mixed tag match was proposed. Though Rollins and Lynch were hesitant, Punk made the decision for them when he attempted a GTS on Rollins. An official Wrestlepalooza showdown—CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch—is now in the lineup as well.

The tag team division won’t be left out of the chaos, fortunately. After weeks of back-and-forth drama on Raw, The Usos will square off against the powerhouse duo of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. What had initially started with challenges and refusals turned personal fast, especially after LA Knight accidentally—and then purposefully—got tangled up in Uso business. Reed and Breakker, who are two of the most imposing stars on the roster, represent a physical challenge unlike anything the Usos have faced in years. For the twins, it’s a chance to remind everyone why they’re one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history.

Wrestlepalooza is already shaping up to be one of WWE’s most must-see events of 2024. September 20 can’t get here soon enough.
