Round 3 of the US Open proved unforgiving, as several top names were eliminated on Saturday. Alexander Zverev, Tommy Paul, and teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva were all knocked out, underscoring just how intense and unpredictable the final stages of the tournament are shaping up to be.
The challenge only gets tougher from here, and Sunday, August 31, promises a blockbuster line-up as some of the biggest stars in tennis return to the court. The day begins with high-profile fourth-round matchups featuring Jessica Pegula and Carlos Alcaraz, both hoping to cement their places in the quarter-finals.
Later in the evening, the spotlight shifts to Arthur Ashe Stadium, where Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina are scheduled to play their respective singles matches.

One of the day’s most closely watched matches will feature Taylor Townsend, who made headlines earlier in the tournament for her confrontation with Jelena Ostapenko over on-court behaviour. Townsend, still alive in both singles and doubles, will face two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova at Louis Armstrong Stadium in what promises to be a fiercely contested battle.
Elsewhere, Jan-Lennard Struff, who stunned both Frances Tiafoe and Holger Rune en route to the fourth round, will face Djokovic in a clash of power and experience.
