Smriti Mandhana has etched her name into the history books, becoming the first Indian woman cricketer to achieve centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana's remarkable achievement.
This landmark moment occurred during the first T20I between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a stunning innings of 112 runs from just 62 balls, solidifying her place among the cricket greats.
As captain, Mandhana led from the front with a dominant display, smashing 15 fours and three towering sixes. Her aggressive yet controlled innings propelled India to a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs, their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century was also Mandhana's first in T20Is, completing a rare feat that had eluded all other Indian women cricketers until now. Her century set the tone early, blending elegance with power, particularly as she neutralized England's top spinners like Sophie Ecclestone with fearless strokeplay.
Valuable contributions also came from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), ensuring India maintained a strong run rate throughout the innings. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers, taking three wickets, but the damage had already been done.
Mandhana's achievement places her among a select group of cricketers globally, both male and female, who have scored centuries in all three formats of the game. This milestone is a defining moment not only for her career but also for Indian women's cricket, inspiring a new generation of cricketers to dream big and overcome obstacles.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has once again demonstrated why she is the face of Indian women's cricket: consistent, fearless, and record-breaking.
